Alumni associations
Alumni association software: chapters, directory and the annual dinner
An alumni association lives on two things: a directory people want to be in, and events they want to attend. Dues follow if both work. Chapters by city or by year keep it personal.

What usually goes wrong
- 01
The directory is a PDF from 2019 that half the alumni asked to be removed from.
- 02
City chapters run their own mailing lists and the central office does not know who attended what.
- 03
Dues and donations are mixed in the same bank line and the treasurer separates them by hand.

Import the alumni list with cohorts; invite in waves by graduation year; alumni opt in to the directory from the portal.

- Reunion

Questions
Alumni associations
01Can alumni be in the register without paying dues?
Yes. A free “alumnus” tier keeps them in the register and the directory; a paid tier adds member benefits. Reports separate the two.
02Is the directory public?
Only if you choose. Most alumni associations keep it members-only; each alumnus still controls what is shown.
